Steve and Cecile are getting married this coming spring, and on that day they will not only be creating a brand new family, but will also be blending two families together! To celebrate the coming together of their families, Steve and Cecile brought some very fun and unique “props” to their engagement session: their kids! The shoot was a lot of fun- the kids all had big, fun-loving personalities and really let it show how happy they were for Steve and Cecile. We have photographed the weddings of two of Steve’s nephews, and we are so honored to be shooting Steve and Cecile’s March 2012 wedding and get to capture more beautiful memories for this family : )
This fall has been our highest-volume season for engagement portraits yet- living in the south with all of the gorgeous autumn colors everywhere means that tons of couples want to have their engagements done outdoors during October and November. But what to do when those brilliant oranges, reds and violets turn gray and brown for the winter? Find a Christmas Tree Farm! : ) Haha… Actually, we knew that this couple would be all about a Christmas- themed shoot long before the fall colors faded. Adam and Dora booked us for their June ’12 wedding all the way back in early spring of this year. Dora and her family love Christmas, and Adam had proposed on Thanksgiving last year during her family’s traditional Christmas ornament exchange. Dora wanted to have a Christmas wedding, but she and Adam ultimately decided to wait until this June. When Dora and I started talking about their engagements, I knew exactly the kind of shoot they could get excited about with us! We decorated a tree in the middle of Penland Christmas Tree Farm, made a bunch of our own props, made it snow and brought some hot chocolate to keep us warm! Enjoy Adam and Dora’s Christmas engagements, everyone!
We met Katie and Anthony at a bridal expo where we were exhibiting- when we met them, we immediately knew that we were going to enjoy taking their engagements : ) This couple was so fun and energetic! They brought their A-game and had so much personality in front of the camera. We took the first half of their engagements at the Greenway in Fort Mill, where Anthony and Katie wanted their images to capture a casual, vintage feel. We trekked to uptown Charlotte for the second half of the shoot, where they did a wardrobe-change into more formal clothes and we got some fun, upbeat city-lights shots! We had a great time taking these photos. Congratulations, Anthony and Katie on your engagement!
