How can you not come away with a few new favorite images when you’ve got a gorgeous bride in Charleston, South Carolina? Owen (Heather’s then-fiance, now-husband) used to live in Charleston for a summer during his college-days, and his brother lives there now. So Owen and Heather spend a good amount of time in this beautiful city and it’s where Owen chose to popped the question and ask Heather to marry him (more on their lovely engagement story to follow in a later post). Not only was Heather a natural in front of the camera, she was fearless! She is the only bride I know who had no qualms whatsoever about posing barefoot on the beach, letting her wedding dress touch the wet sand. “I’ll just let it dry and shake out the sand later,” she told us. Wow! Most brides would not have that much confidence. But thank the Lord Heather did, because not only was she right, but the images were stunning- well worth the risk! Future brides, do take a few queues from Heather? She took a chance and accepted that if she needed to get her dress dry-cleaned after this session, it was worth it to get some fun and creatives shots out of her bridal portraits! You’re only going to have one wedding-day… might as well take every opportunity you can to rock that dress 🙂 Enjoy a few of our faves from Heather’s Charleston bridal session:

AJ and Nicole came to us concerned with finding a photographer who would be a great fit for their wedding, and by the end of our consultation there was no question that we were all going to enjoy working together very much! Nicole had been so stressed with finding the right photographer, and as we left our consultation AJ was giggling at her because she just could not stop smiling! It always humbles us when a couple is excited specifically about our work, or having us as their photographer work : )

Nicole and AJ already had some engagement photos done when we initially met with them. Before that shoot, Nicole had not had profession photos taken of her in a very long time, and she told us that she had been very nervous in front of the camera and was nervous about how she would be during pictures on the wedding day. A nervous bride on a wedding day is normal, but pictures should be the last thing stressing her out before the wedding day even arrives! We arranged to do an engagement mini-session to give Nicole the opportunity to see how easy it can really be being in front of the camera. Brian and I are not intimidating personalities at all! We are so goofy, enjoy what we do so much, that most of our clients tell us after their engagement sessions that they actually enjoyed themselves! Nicole came out of the session with much relief and feeling a lot better about being the center of the camera’s focus on her wedding day.

Of course, on the morning of our shoot, storm-clouds were rolling in and rain began just before the session was supposed to start. We made the best of it and had AJ and Nicole bring rain boots and an umbrella to incorporate into the photos! Enjoy AJ and Nicole’s engagement mini-session!
