Andrew and Challie’s wedding day was one for the books in many ways. In the best way, it was easily one of the most fun wedding days we’ve ever photographed. We fell in love with Challie and Andrew the second we met them, and we had such a great time getting to know them at their engagement session and at Challie’s bridal session… There was so much genuine love and joy surrounding them from their family and friends throughout the whole day, and everyone was exceptionally trusting and cooperative with us as we photographed them! We felt like the whole day just flowed perfectly, as did our creativity. It was also a bench-marker day because it was our 100th wedding 🙂
In a non-wonderful way, it was a day we’ll never forget because it was the day before Brian’s brother Steven died unexpectedly. The crazy thing is, Andrew and Challie actually went to college at CIU with Steven, and knew him (although it was not actually Steven but Ribald Events who connected Andrew and Challie to us). One of Steven’s last correspondences on Instagram was even a congratulatory comment to Andrew on this wedding day.
Editing this wedding and then preparing it for the blog was quite an emotional roller-coaster for us, as we were continually reminded throughout the process that this was the last day Steven was alive, the last day we would remain innocent from his loss. But honestly, we can’t think of another couple’s wedding we would have rather been photographing that day: it was a beautiful day, a beautiful venue, a beautiful wedding and a truly beautiful couple (both inside and out). Their joy on their wedding day was contagious and it was nice to be reminded of genuine happiness as we worked through the post-production on these images! We’re so thrilled for the #marriedmonks and are proud to share the beauty from their wedding day on our blog finally! Enjoy some of our favorites from Andrew and Challie’s wedding at Hightower Hall!

We were absolutely thrilled to have the opportunity to photograph Alex and Ashleigh’s wedding in Savannah, GA! Ashleigh grew up in the Charlotte area, and now that she and Alex live in Savannah, they knew they’d have a lot of guests traveling for their Georgia wedding. They wanted to highlight the beauty of Savannah and chose Bethesda Academy as their venue for it’s beautiful southern oak trees draped in Spanish moss. They incorporated Georgia peaches into their color-scheme and decor, and even had ice-cream sandwiches instead of cake from Savannah’s famous Leopold’s Ice Cream as a treat for their guests (a spectacular choice in the midst of the southern August heat). Alex and Ashleigh did a first-look which made their whole day flow with ease. All we had to do after the ceremony was steal away for a few snuggly shots of the newlyweds while the guests settled into the reception! Though it was hot, the whole day was simply beautiful… southern, classic, and truly joyful! Enjoy a few of our favorites from Alex and Ashleigh’s wedding in Savannah, GA!
