Daniel and Amber’s wedding was one to remember! Daniel built Amber a little half-purgola in the backyard of the house they’d just bought together to get married under. We had asked Amber and Daniel for a list of shots they specifically wanted (expecting the usual list of different family members and bridal party etc…), but when we got to their home, Amber said that the only shots she really wanted after the ceremony were photos of her and Daniel, and that she trusted us to cover the rest- so that’s what we did! The ceremony was small, relaxed and initmate, officiated by a long-time friend of Daniel’s family (who was also their florist!), Michelle.
Since Daniel could’nt see the bride until she came down the aisle, he helped prepare the backyard for the ceremony and reception. He was so anxious to see Amber, that at one point, we looked out the window to find him cutting down a tree in their backyard!
This was sweet: Amber’s Maid of Honor, Lacey, and Lacey’s husband had this piece of artwork customized for Amber and gave it to her as she was getting ready!
Amber’s daughter, Kylie, getting in her flower-girl dress!
Daniel is an EMT, and Amber works at a medical clinic- that’s how they met! I didn’t find this out until having lunch with Amber after the wedding, but it was part of Daniel’s job to drive this elderly man to his appointments at the clinic where Amber worked, and after several appointments of Amber walking the man back to his exam room, the man told Amber that Daniel thought she was cute, and that Daniel always talked about being excited to see her on their way to the clinic. The next time they saw each other, Daniel gave Amber his phone number; they met for lunch that ended up lasting 6 hours, and they’ve been together ever since!
As Amber and Daniel walked up the aisle after being pronounced husband and wife, they jumped into the back of an SUV with me and Brian at the wheel to drive them to the site where we’d decided to take their photos. On our way to Daniel and Amber’s house before the wedding, we had passed, on the side of the road, about 10 old-looking cars that were literally charred. They were so cool-looking, I told Brian I hoped we could take some pictures of them there, and thankfully, both Amber and Daniel were on board with the idea. We had a lot of fun with that! When we arrived back at the reception, it was all too apparents that their whole wedding was just plain full of love. All of the guests showered Amber and Daniel with gifts and excitement- it was definately the most fun we’d ever had at a wedding!
