I had the absolute honor in June of photographing the beautiful wedding day of such a sweet friend! Sarah and I met almost a decade ago in college, working at our silly little tanning salon job! As a talented artist, Sarah did my wedding day makeup and she’s dolled up several of my brides since Brian and I started this business. Throughout the highs and lows of the last several years, Sarah has never wavered in her faith that God is in control and the He had the perfect husband waiting for her. Her wedding day to Peter, her Prince Charming, was simply one of the purest, intimately beautiful and love-filled days I’ve had the pleasure of photographing. I couldn’t help but beam with happiness for this darling girl all day long. I’m so thrilled that Peter and Sarah have found each other and are now settled in as husband and wife. Enjoy a few of our favorites from Peter and Sarah’s wedding day!
Andrew and Challie’s wedding day was one for the books in many ways. In the best way, it was easily one of the most fun wedding days we’ve ever photographed. We fell in love with Challie and Andrew the second we met them, and we had such a great time getting to know them at their engagement session and at Challie’s bridal session… There was so much genuine love and joy surrounding them from their family and friends throughout the whole day, and everyone was exceptionally trusting and cooperative with us as we photographed them! We felt like the whole day just flowed perfectly, as did our creativity. It was also a bench-marker day because it was our 100th wedding 🙂
In a non-wonderful way, it was a day we’ll never forget because it was the day before Brian’s brother Steven died unexpectedly. The crazy thing is, Andrew and Challie actually went to college at CIU with Steven, and knew him (although it was not actually Steven but Ribald Events who connected Andrew and Challie to us). One of Steven’s last correspondences on Instagram was even a congratulatory comment to Andrew on this wedding day.
Editing this wedding and then preparing it for the blog was quite an emotional roller-coaster for us, as we were continually reminded throughout the process that this was the last day Steven was alive, the last day we would remain innocent from his loss. But honestly, we can’t think of another couple’s wedding we would have rather been photographing that day: it was a beautiful day, a beautiful venue, a beautiful wedding and a truly beautiful couple (both inside and out). Their joy on their wedding day was contagious and it was nice to be reminded of genuine happiness as we worked through the post-production on these images! We’re so thrilled for the #marriedmonks and are proud to share the beauty from their wedding day on our blog finally! Enjoy some of our favorites from Andrew and Challie’s wedding at Hightower Hall!

We absolutely adored our time shooting Challie’s bridal session the month before her wedding day! This gorgeous set of bridal portraits took place at Hightower Hall in Historic Brattonsville, South Carolina! Her lovely dress was a stunning match to the scenery and decor of Hightower Hall, and Challie’s contagious joy and anticipation of her big day made her a dream to photograph. Perhaps one of the most unique moments in bridal-portrait history occurred when, at the end of the session, Challie asked “there’s a wall in the house with a collage of a bunch of photos of sheep. I’d really like a photo of me with that wall!” Haha. Of course we had to make that happen 😉 We love it when brides take advantage of their bridal sessions as an opportunity to let their sweet personalities shine through. And Challie’s personality is quite possibly one of the sweetest ever! Enjoy a few of our favorites from Challie’s bridal portrait session at Hightower Hall!
