About 3 weeks before her wedding, I jaunted down to Anderson, South Carolina to capture Chelsea’s bridal portraits at her parents’ absolutely gorgeous Victorian family home! Even in the middle of renovations, there were a few gorgeous architectural spaces that were beautifully cleared out that made the perfect backdrop for these lovely portraits. Chelsea’s stylish taste of classic mixed with high-fashion led her to this perfectly stunning gown by BERTA. It fit her like a glove, and as soon as it was fastened she radiated the joyful anticipation that only a bride can possess. Her wedding day was magical and we’re so excited to finally be able to share these bridals! Enjoy a few of our favorites of Chelsea’s bridal portraits.
This shoot was quite a feat of accomplishment! I began planning this styled shoot in January of 2016, and planned to shoot it in February of 2016. I lined up models (former wedding clients, Joel + Kayla Bowen), and vendors and began collecting details for a late Feb. shoot at Fenland Christmas Tree Farm when our daughter, Avonlea, had to be rushed to Levine Children’s Hospital the week before we planned to shoot! She ended up staying at Levine for over a week, so we postponed the shoot and it was a good thing too, because I ended up going into labor 4 weeks early with our little Violet just 3 days after Avonlea came home from Levine! Finding an alternative date proved difficult, and the shoot kept getting pushed back and back until September! By the time the date was finalized, a couple of the vendors who had been willing to participate originally were unavailable. New Creations Flowers stepped in at the very last minute the week of the final shoot-date with gorgeous flowers! Velo Creative overnighted stationary, and final pieces of wardrobe and decor were pieced together just days before the shoot. But it all came together beautifully! We couldn’t have asked for a better outcome and we were absolutely thrilled when the shoot was published on Borrowed & Blue, a national wedding style blog, as well as Bustl’d, a wedding blog local to the Charlotte area!
Will and Sarah got married at St. Peter Catholic Church in Uptown Charlotte! One thing we really appreciated about these two: they really wanted to hold off on a “first look” and see each other for the first time on their wedding day at the ceremony; and since we wouldn’t be able to get much photography done before the ceremony, they scheduled two hours between the end of their ceremony and the start of their reception for photos! It was a photographer’s dream 🙂 We had no strict time-constraints and were able to take our time with the bridal party and the newlyweds, just walking around Uptown Charlotte and capturing fun shots as we went. We even finished early and gave the wedding party a chance to enjoy some punch at cocktail hour once they arrived at the reception venue! The reception was held at the Alexander Homestead. It was kind of nice to have two very different settings for photos… the Alexander Homestead is very rustic, as opposed to the more urban feel of the images we captured around Uptown Charlotte. The entire day was a blast from start to finish! Will and Sarah were so great to work with, from first meeting to handing off their finished images- we are so thrilled we got to work with them, and couldn’t be happier for them that they’re now Mr. and Mrs. Neese! Enjoy a few of our favorites from Will and Sarah’s wedding!
